Store Associate Information

Job Description

 

The Store Associate will run a point-of-sale register, provide prompt and courteous customer service, assist in keeping store clean, and assist management as needed. Must be able to interact with customers in a professional, courteous, and helpful manner.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities:

·      None.

 

Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Ensures an outstanding customer experience and drive sales by welcoming guests, sharing product knowledge, providing recommendations, and carrying out product for guests.

  • Fosters an environment of teamwork, trust, and collaboration with co-workers

  • Assists with day-to-day operations of the liquor stores, including stocking shelves on the sales floor, filling product in the beer cooler, and displaying merchandise.

  • Answers store phone calls promptly and professionally, directs calls, and takes phone messages.

  • Communicates current pricing and promotions to customers.

  • Develops and maintains wine, beer, and spirits knowledge; keeps up with industry trends in each product category.

  • Maintains stores’ high cleanliness standards by performing routine cleaning of the floor, the bathroom, and the parking lot.

  • Practices awareness and ensures theft at the store is at a minimum.

  • Utilizes the point-of-sale system for every transaction; handles and manages cash.

·       Processes returns and exchanges.

  • Assists with in-store displays and signage.

  • Organizes and maintain stock rooms and overstock products.

  • Complies with all laws and regulations regarding the sale of alcohol.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

 

Required Skills/Abilities:

·      Excellent verbal communication skills.

·      Excellent active listening skills.

·      Excellent sales and customer service skills.

·      Extensive knowledge of the merchandise sold.

·      Ability to anticipate customers’ needs.

·      Ability to recommend merchandise to customers.

·      Ability to operate or to quickly learn the store’s point-of-sale system.

·      Ability to bend frequently and stand or walk for long periods of time.

·      Ability to regularly life 50-80 pounds with reasonable accommodations.

 

 

Education and Experience:

·      High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

·      Previous retail experience preferred.

·      On-the-job training provided.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 per hour
