It is not often a very successful brewery owner decides to build a second brewery with a brand new identity from scratch. That is what industry pioneer Larry Bell of Michigan’s Bell’s Brewery has done with Upper Hand Brewery. They quietly entered the Minnesota market with four year-round beers that are truly worthy of your attention.

And Now, the Brews

Upper Hand Brewing | Yooper | Ale
Upper Hand
Yooper Ale is a nod to Upper Michigan culture in its name, but an equally refreshing session ale with a nice citrus finish with low bitterness. It uses oats in addition to malted barley creating a very smooth aftertaste

Upper Hand Brewing | Lager | American Light Lager
Upper Hand Upper Hand Lager is an American Light Lager that would be equally at home inside an ice fishing shanty, or at a summer family picnic
6pk Btl | 5% ABV | N/A IBUs

Upper Hand Brewing | Upper Peninsula Ale (UPA) | Pale Ale
Upper Hand Upper Peninsula Ale (UPA) is a well done Pale Ale, as expected, from the source behind Bell’s Two Hearted Ale. UPA uses Mosaic hops that lend a floral citrus finish.
6pk btl | 5.5% ABV | N/A IBUs

Upper Hand Brewing | Escanaba Black Beer | Dark Ale
Upper Hand Escanaba Black Beer is a dark ale that will up-end preconceived ideas of dark beers. This is not a Stout nor a Porter.  It is a highly sessionable, lower octane beer that has a roasty character that will pair nicely with BBQ or smoked meats at your next cookout.
6pk btl | 4.5% ABV | N/A IBUs
