Time for an update! Our inventory is always changing and we add wines on a regular basis so let’s look at some great new additions. We have been big fans of Fred Cline and his wines coming out of Sonoma and Contra Costa counties. The new Cashmere Black Magic is a deeper darker version of the classic Cashmere red. Great color, flavor, and balance make this a super griller, especially with lamb.
Daniel Cohn is the son of a longtime Sonoma County grower (B. R. Cohn) who has made a splash with his Bellacosa Cabernet Sauvignon North Coast. North Coast is an appellation that was created by the Gallo group when they wanted to combine Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino, and even Lake County fruit and avoid having to put “California” on the label. Don’t get me wrong here, some very nice wines are bottled every year with a North Coast appellation and this is a great example.
The Double Canyon Cabernet Sauvignon is from the Horse Heaven Hill A.V.A. in Washington, growing in desert conditions. It’s 75% Cab Sauv with a nice slice of 17% Syrah giving it an interesting smoky black raspberry mid-palate with a little Merlot (8%) added to give it a smooth finish.
Come in this Saturday from 1-4pm as we taste these three tasty reds with our friendly staff. I think you’ll see why we brought them in for you.

“This Cabernet embodies a delectable mix of fresh ripe red and black plum, intermingled with hints of dried red cherry. Characteristic of the appellation and 2013 vintage, the nose presents spiced potpourri with the slightest hint of fresh sweet basil. The addition of Syrah leads to a full and rich texture on the mid-palate, further accented by luscious blackberry notes supplied by the Malbec and bright acidity from the Petit Verdot.” 91 points Wine Spectator |
