I hope everyone enjoyed the biodynamic wines from Bonny Doon last week for Earth day. It looks like the Clos de Gilroy Grenache was the big favorite among tasters. That is very exciting seeing people embracing something unique and delicious. Well in keeping with the “Every Day is Earth Day” montra I am very willing to do another week of organic beauties. These four are from Italy and France and they are nicely affordable. Fun, delicious and interesting wines don’t have to be expensive and the organic options should not be either. The La Chausseynette wines are from Christine and Daniel Chaussey who farm in and around the famous A.O.C of Chateauneuf-du-Papes. Their wines are very representative of wines produced there for 100 years; fresh and lively with a little earthiness. Think lamb shoulder chops on the grill with some grilled veggies on the side. The Prelius and the Zensa show typical Italian precision in flavors. Read rich yet nicely acidic and great with food.
