Caymus 40th Anniversary Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

The Critical Acclaim
Robert Parker’s Wine Advocate
“They appear to be immune to some of winedom’s less than intelligent trends and fads that we see from time to time, and the result is a spectacular 2012 Cabernet Sauvignon 40th Anniversary offering. Its dense purple/black color is followed by copious quantities of crème de cassis and blackberry fruit, silky tannins, a voluptuous texture and stunning purity as well as length. This full-bodied effort is a fabulous example of Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon as well as a tribute to this amazing family. It is so good now, why wait? However, I’m sure that like most vintages of Caymus, it will last for 20-25 years. Amazing!”

Mer Soleil Santa Lucia Highlands Reserve Chardonnay 2013

Golden-hued in color, the wine opens with opulent aromas of peach, apple, Meyer lemon and baking spices. The palate is an inviting medley of peach and D’Anjou pear; layered with tropical notes of pineapple and banana. The vibrant acidity is well balanced by warm butterscotch and subtle coconut notes that seamlessly meld together to create a luscious, mouth-filling richness.

Mer Soleil Silver Un-Oaked Chardonnay SLH 2013

A pale yellow hue, the wine is well balanced with great structure. Bright minerality, pink grapefruit and key lime characters shine through on the nose, followed by lemon zest and stone-fruit. The mid-palate displays intriguing notes of lemon meringue, quince and citrus, complemented by a crisp acidity that carries through from start to finish.

Conundrum Red Blend California 2012

The wine opens up with aromas of dark fruit, plums, and rich berries that are layered with a subtle smokiness and the whiff of BBQ. It has a round, full-bodied entry on the palate, delivering an extravagance of fruit that leads into a lingering finish. An evocative quality of brown spice combines with a serious red wine texture to leave a strong yet nuanced final impression, one that entices rather than reveals the mystery.

Conundrum White Blend California 2012

The Conundrum white begins with intriguing aromas of green apple, tangerine and honeysuckle blossoms. The taste is best described as exotic; with layers of peach, apricot nectar, green melon and pear, overlaid with subtle notes of citrus zest and spicy vanilla. A rich, round mouth-feel supported by fresh acidity, brings the complexity of this wine into balance.
