The beauty of a good 4th of July bash is that it’s one of the breeziest holidays for multiple celebrations. You can go from a parade, to a pool party, to a bar-b-que, to a fireworks show without breaking a sweat….okay, that might be an over-promise. But surely you can bask in the good times with all your favorite people, and maybe some favorite wines as well.

For the Grill-master:

High Valley Zinfandel

Give your special recipe ribs, kebabs, burgers or spiced sausages an extra-bright spotlight with this lightly brambly Zinfandel from Lake County, California. Sustainably farmed dark fruits like blackberry and cassis are framed by a soft, complimentary layer of allspice and clove and a full but fresh body.

For the Lawn-gamer:

Lady Slipper Blanc

Pool-side, lake-side, volleyball court, three-legged race — there’s no end to the versatility of Lady Slipper blanc. Premium wine in a can from Cali hotshot Andrew Jones, this is almost like a ready-made summer cocktail with tangy peach, Meyer lemon, white tea, and a soft twang of bubble. Reminder: 1/2 bottle in every can!

For all the Ooh’s and Aah’s:

Le Mesnil Brut Champagne

Go out with a true banger from the cooperative Champagne house that supplies all the big names with their Grand Cru fruit. We’re never disappointed with the beautiful complexity in this wine: a kaleidoscope of mineral, citrus, toast, and ultra-fine bubbles. Don’t hesitate to spread the love as you take in the fireworks from your picnic blanket or your cozy couch.
