The translation is as follows: “Look to Spain and Portugal for some great wine buys! They just keep coming folks. Such great wines for parties, dinner, patio pounding and enjoying la vida dulce. Let’s start with red from the D.O. Toro. The Cermeño is fun for those that like an intense red. Tempranillo fermented in a combination of stainless steel and concrete eggs, then finished in new and used oak barrels. For any grilling event, especially with smoky, grilled meats and grilled peppers and onions.

Then we turn to Garnacha. Did you know, that the number one planted red grape varietal in Spain by acreage is, wait for it, Garnacha or Grenache in France. It beats out Tempranillo and Airen for top honors but the Garnacha is also farmed to very low yields, crafting wines of great concentration.

Vinho Verde is a category of Portuguese white wines that are light and fresh, yet the Raza moves past most with regards to body and complexity. The Raza still fills the bill as a fun white to enjoy with food and friends. It’s still summer people and all hail the “Patio King”!

Cheers! -Bill “The Wine Guy”

Cermeño Toro 2017

“This is a dark, roasted wine from Western Spain. Aromas of dark berries, roasted game and espresso beans awaken the senses while the medium to full-bodied wine, loaded with flavor, struts across the pallet like a bejeweled Toreador!

Tinto de Toro is the regional name for Tempranillo and this the noble grape on the wild side. “Time to get Bizet’s Carmen out and play it loud!” -Guillermo Abrahamson

Garnacha de Fuego 2017

“Garnacha de Fuego is a young, primary fruit expression of the oldest clones of Garnacha in the world, from the high altitude mountains of Calatayud.

The altitudes, age of the vines, and slate dominant soils produce a wine of tremendous character and concentration, balanced by fresh acidity that provides balance and drinkability, and elegant minerality.” -Jorge Ordoñez Selections
