It’s not often some of the beer’s most basic ingredients are showcased as nicely as the following two beers.  The following beers respectively from Central Waters Brewing and Boom Island Brewing allow the consumer to really enjoy the brewer’s intention using only the best hops & malts available

And Now, the Brews

Central Waters Brewing | Rift | IPA
Rift IPA
Central Waters Brewing just released Rift IPA, an instant Midwest classic, that can stand side by side with legendary 3 Floyd Brewing’s Zombie Dust. Massively dry hopped with Citra, Amarillo, and Simcoe hops, this could be my new go-to year-round IPA. This replaces the retired Glacial Trail IPA from Central Waters, as they move away from a West Coast style to the ever more popular citrus forward style consumers are eating up.

Boom Island | Bolleke Plus | Oak Aged Double Pale Ale
BollekePlusRevised Bolleke Plus, an Oak Aged Double Pale Ale, uses the same superb malt as Master Maltster Karl Dingemans in the classic Trappists beers like Westvleteren, Orval, and Westmalle. This beer was selected to be showcased at the recent Craft Brewers Conference in Washington DC, and dry hopped using an experimental hop from sixth generation hop grower Hopsteiner. This beer, from the mind of Boom Island’s Kevin Welch, is all about the malt though. I picked up notes of vanilla, caramel, and even a little rum. This is a limited-edition brew, pick this up while you can.
