I can almost smell the smoky goodness of our Easter ham. It’s time to pick out wines for the dinner. Last week we had a Pinot Noir that I said your “Cabernet drinking brother-in-law” would like because it was fuller bodied and darker than most Pinot Noirs. I thought we’d better come back this week with something a little light and unmistakably Pinot Noir-like. The Erath is just that; light, fresh and brimming with cherries in the nose and on the palate. The Tannins are soft and it has a crispness that tells you it’s from a northerly growing zone. It’s great with turkey on Thanksgiving and ham on Easter. Your Cabernet swilling family members could use a break from the big wines. Speaking of Pinot Noir, the Martin Ray Rosé is absolutely gorgeous! This crisp, pink wine has a wonderful tart strawberry and watermelon flavor and finishes off dry with just a touch of sweetness. If you are looking for a fun white wine for Easter, try the Kung Fu Girl Riesling. It has some residual sugar to make it slightly sweet but it also has the acidity to finish slightly tart. Thanks and have a wonderful holiday!

Martin Ray Rosé of Pinot Noir Russian River 2015
“This wine blossoms with a complex and fruit-driven bouquet featuring high tone tropical and citrus notes such as blood orange, kiwi, passion fruit and coconut, coupled with more delicate aromas of watermelon and orange crème. In a constant effort to over-deliver, our Rosé is dominated by a round front and midpalate, that is fruit-driven, but dry. It has well-balanced, refreshing acidity around the edges and a clean refined finish.” Winemakers notes
