Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays from Argentina! It’s Spring time in Mendoza and the snowmelt from the Andes is flowing through ancient canals bringing water to what would be a desert-like climate. The Catena family has made wine here since 1902 and Nicolas Catena is considered the Godfather of modern Argentine winemaking. He has utilized a combination of skill, persistence, exploration and luck to build his enological empire and today his wines represent the standard of quality for Argentine wines. These reds will be perfect with roasted meats and steaks for the holidays while the Chardonnay will pair well with shellfish, seafood and roast chicken. They are exceptional values and would make great gifts too!
