It is the time of Crowlers, a can much bigger than a normal can. It’s the same size as a bomber (750 ml) and it’s the perfect amount for a Friday evening. As new breweries keep poppin’ up, we are seeing some of them get into the Crowler packaging right away. I am still deciding if I like it. Everyone wants to do away with bombers, but are these cans better? Is it that the price point is better? Either way, the liquid these breweries are putting into the Crowlers, is much more of a statement.

And Now, the Brews

Junkyard Brewing | Peanut Butter Bandit | Stout with Peanut
Peanut Butter Bandit
When I think of peanut butter stouts/porters my benchmark has always been set at Dangerous Man in Minneapolis. Junkyard’s is now my new par. Junkyard Brewing is out of Moorhead, Minnesota and has been producing some great beers ever since they have hit the market. When you crack this brew, the pungent aroma of Peanut Butter hits your nostrils right away. The first sip is fantastic! It’s loaded with a full rounded mouthfeel and the most delightful hint of roasty chocolate, but, mostly, the best nutty peanut butter flavor. Not overwhelming but very peanutty. If you love the dark porters and stouts and do not have a peanut allergy grab the Bandit and enjoy. Please note, not all Top Ten Liquors stores are able to get Junkyard. Stay tuned to our social media pages for updates as to when Junkyard arrives at the stores!

Inbound Brewing | Conifer Crush | IPA
Inbound Another brewing company that has decided to run with the Crowlers, Inbound Brewing from Minneapolis. As you may know, Inbound Brewing came about after some rebranding and rebrewing formats taken from the former Lucid Brewing guys. They are just getting rolling again and in a major way. The beer I had the pleasure to consume is their Conifer Crush. Jammed packed with Citra and Helena hops, this brew offers a super dank and sticky profile that doesn’t smack you in the face, too hard. With 75 IBUs, this IPA is piney and hoppy, but not too overpowering. Perfectly balanced. I thought it was pretty tasty.
