Now that everybody is settled in for the school year and the homecoming festivities have begun, we are treated with weird weather and weirder brews. These three are awesome brews that, depending on the day to day weather this Fall, can be thoroughly enjoyed!

And Now, the Brews

Founders | Green Zebra | Watermelon Gose with Sea Salt
Weird Beer
Every year Founders creates a brew for the big art fair in Grand Rapids, Michigan. This year they really struck a winner with Green Zebra. Perfectly tart, with a good fruity flavor when you take your first sip. Midway through, you get blasted with a slightly sweet watermelon with a finish that is perfectly balanced with a sea salt finish, which is traditional for Gose style brews. Absolutely fantastic.

Dogfish Head | Flesh and Blood | IPA
Weird Beer This very sought after brewery is now, finally, available all over the state, which is very exciting! This IPA is fantastic in every way. When I describe to you the ingredients, I need you to know, it tastes as good as it sounds. It is a perfectly hopped IPA, with only 45 IBUs, making it much more citrusy than bitter. Flesh and Blood is made with lemon flesh, resulting in a juicy brew that is not super tart. Then you’re slammed with blood orange juice that cuts right through any remaining tartness and balances it out beautifully. The finish leaves you with a great dry citrus flavor that forces you to want more.

Stillwater Artisanal | On Fleek | Imperial Stout
Weird Beer Pours dark, mildly syrupy. About a good finger of foamy head. Smells roasty and sweet. When you taste it, you get cocoa nibs, a bit of espresso, and roasted malts. Delicious meaty stout, but with the alcohol content being so high, 13%, it was very drinkable. The finish was dry with rich dark chocolate. Super tasty.
