With it being Summer and the time for beer, the market has been pushing out some delightful treats recently. New from Hugo, MN, we have Cosmos Brewing, and a new gem from Avery, who always has solid brews. Give them a whirl, they’re worth the adventure.

And Now, the Brews

Cosmos Brewing | Buzzed Aldrin | Coffee Ale
Cosmos Bussed Aldrin
This coffee ale from Cosmos is made with Alaskan Artisan Coffee. Now, I typically enjoy a stout or porter to compliment any coffee offerings beers have, but this one is nice for its sessionable qualities. Pours light in color, slightly cloudy, and a nose of a lightly roasted coffee blend. Taste wise, it is very drinkable. Mild coffee flavor but still gives the body quality of an ale. If you enjoy the lighter coffee brews then this is a must try.

Cosmos Brewing | Crop Formation | Belgian Wit
Cosmos Crop Formation I generally dislike Wit beers but throw in some weird ingredients and I tend to enjoy them. Smells like a Wit beer, the flavor is a typical Wit with burnt banana, but then it spins to some glorious flavors of lemon and compliments with a basil herb underlying background twist. For the Hoegaarden lover I shared this with, his take was a touch sweeter and differently bursting with some extra flavors. Grab it. Perfect patio treat.

Avery Brewing | Real Peel | Tangerine Peel IPA
avery_real_peel A new year-round beer from Avery Brewing, this IPA is made with tangerine peels. Pours light in color, with a slight haze, aromas of hops and a hint of tangerine. When you sip it, you get the nice sticky character of an IPA with a mild bitterness that finishes with a hint of orange zest. Very mild on the tangerine but enough to satisfy your palate.
