As we transition into February and the days barely start to become longer, we are forced to face one of our coldest months. Once again, I picked some delicious brews to help get us through this hard time. Because of my brew choices, they are available at select locations, please check which stores have the inventory before you venture to try these babies!! I will say, they are defiantly worth the hunt!
And Now, the Brews
|Drekker Brewing | Milk Maiden | Chocolate Milk Stout|
|Drekker Brewing, out of Fargo, North Dakota, is the next up and coming brewing available in the Twin Cities area, in my opinion. They produce beers, literally, in every style. They make fantastic fruit sours, bitter IPAs, and a pretty darn good stout. Ah, stout, in this case, a Chocolate Milk Stout by the name of Milk Maiden. This beer pours thick like a nice glass of chocolate milk, with a medium head. As you drink, you are faced with a silky, rich, and full mouthfeel. It’s so silky! Flavors of dark chocolate attack thanks to the amount of cocoa nibs added. The additions of lactose sugar give us the creamy sweetness we love. This has now become my favorite Chocolate Milk Stout. Available at the St. Louis Park location only, but soon expanding to other locations.|

|Off Color Brewing | Dino S’mores | Russian Imperial Stout|
|Brewed with the Danish, Amager Bryghus and West Lakeview breweries, this Russian Imperial Stout was done right. Imagine, if you will, sitting around a campfire, you have your graham crackers, your chocolate, your marshmallow, and a stick. You create s’mores, you eat s’mores, you enjoy s’mores! Or, now, you can drink s’mores. This beer pours with a nice coffee foam head with smells of sweet toasted marshmallow and chocolate. Flavors of dark chocolate bitterness, vanilla, and roasted malts take hold. You get hints of graham cracker and marshmallow, as well. It really does tastes like s’more! With the bitterness of the chocolate and the sweetness of the marshmallow, this beer really balances out nicely. If you can find it you should buy it. A really fun and tasty brew.|
