As I write this, it is not my birthday, but as it hits your inbox, it is. I didn’t take the day off, I am an adult after all. I am, however, going to enjoy some awesome beer (Who needs cake when you can have some beer?), once I get home, to celebrate revolving around the sun one more time. Now, picking three beers that would uphold such a momentous occasion, I’ll admit, wasn’t the easiest task. I think that I have done a pretty good job at finding some unique beers that reflect my ever-so-obvious uniqueness. Trust me, I am the most unique person that is currently holding your attention or at least half of your attention… third? Okay, part of your attention. Although, at that point, I can’t guarantee that I am the most unique person anymore. Oh well, nevertheless, here are my three birthday beers! #HappyBirthdayTyler (Get it trending worldwide!)

And Now, the Brews

Omnipollo & Evil Twin | Pink Lemonade IPA
Pardon my French, but Mais putain quoi! C’est pas possible! This is freaking delicious! I didn’t think that I could enjoy both a Pink Lemonade and an IPA at the same time! On the nose, you’ll get that classic Pink Lemonade smell mixed with raspberries, grapefruit, tangerine, and a kick of spice from the hops! The taste is similar with more malt and bready characteristics added to balance out the sweetness and bitterness from the rest of the flavors! On top of all of this goodness, this beer came in as a collaboration from Omnipollo and Evil Twin, which melts my heart, two awesome breweries coming together to make some awesome beer!
12 oz Cans | 7% ABV | 70 IBUs

Dogfish Head | Midas Touch | Spiced/Herbed Beer
Dogfish Midas Touch There is an interesting story behind this beer. It’s the first in their Ancient Ales series, made with ingredients found in 2,700-year-old drinking vessels from the tomb of King Midas. The beer teeters somewhere between a beer, wine, and a mead. Brewed with honey, White Muscat grapes, Barley, and Saffron, this beer is pretty unique tasting! Notes of Muscat grape, honey, Saffron, lemon, and Barley lift from the glass. This is all balanced with a flavor profile that consists of citrus, honey, toffee, Muscat, and apricot with a strong malty backbone. As this beer warms, the complexity of it grows. If you need a truly unique brew to help you celebrate my birthday, I recommend this one!
4 pk Bottles | 9% ABV | 12 IBUs

Olvalde & Oakhold | Day Torch | Sour Ale with Nasturtium
Day Torch_logo TWO COLLABORATIONS IN ONE POST!?!? This one comes from two of my favorite breweries. The first, Olvalde, the creator of the Rhubarb Sour Ale that will ruin all rhubarb beer for you, and Oakhold, a farm brewery that will soon be opening up near Duluth. You may have heard of Oakhold as Caleb, head brewer & chemist, helped pioneer Fair State’s sour program. This beer, minus the malts, was entirely grown on the Olvalde farm. Nasturtium is a pretty little perennial herbaceous flowering plant that gives a nice pepper note that complement the tart, yeast, and Brett notes in this beer. The flavor has a delicious tartness that is backed up with the lemon juice, floral, and pepper notes that also come through. Another fantastically unique beer! You can easily age this beer until my next birthday, we’ll do it together, it’ll be fun!
750 ml | 6.5% ABV | N/A IBUs
