It’s almost here! My favorite holiday is upon us. One day a year designated to family, food, football, and, just to break up the alliteration, WINE!  We are here to help you find a great bottle for your feast. Actually, we will help you figure out how many bottles you need for your crew too. (Figuring that you will get five – 5-ounce servings per 750ml bottle of wine).

Here are some hints regarding pairing wine with a traditional Thanksgiving turkey dinner (cranberry sauce, stuffing etc.):

  • Fruity whites and reds are better – a little sweetness is appropriate for this meal
  • Avoid tannic, high alcohol and oaky wines, for example, Chardonnays and Cabernet Sauvignons
  • Lighter bodied wines allow food to show all of its flavors

Try some excellent Thanksgiving wines like the following:

La Crema Sonoma Coast Pinot Noir
Aromas of red cherry, raspberry, pomegranate and sweet tobacco. Multi-layered flavors of red, blue and blackberry fruit, plums, cherries and a hint of blood orange underpin subtle layers of exotic spice and toast. Fine tannins and balanced acidity drive a long finish.

Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Gris
106413_20163 “A workhorse for the winery, this bright and focused Pinot Gris offers pinpoint flavors of melon and pear, with a strong streak of wintergreen. It’s refreshing and ultraclean, with fruit flavors front and center through a medium-long finish.” Editors’ Choice – WE90Wine Enthusiast

Sokol Blosser Evolution White Blend
Sokol-Blosser-Evolution-White-Blend-18th-Edition “A nonvintage blend, the Evolution is as clever as it gets. This 18th edition (the edition numbers serve a similar function to a vintage date) melds seven different grapes into an aromatic, lushly detailed whole. Stone and tropical fruits abound, loading the palate with flavors of peaches, cream, and lemon meringue. It’s thoroughly delicious without a hint of wood”. WE91Wine Enthusiast
Regular Price $14.99
Reward Price $11.96 750ml
Prices good thru December 21st, 2017

Louis Jadot Beaujolais Villages
louis-jadot “Strong red-purple color. Fresh red fruits on the nose with a hint of dark cherry. Slightly spicy with a touch of grey pepper, licorice and a touch of rose flower. The whole wine is very well balanced with a nice acidity and the tannins presence on the finish invites food pairing such as with Terrines, Charcuteries, grilled red meat, white fish, cheese or simply as the sole wine of a meal.” – Winemaker Notes
Regular Price $14.99
Reward Price $11.96 750ml
Prices good thru December 21st, 2017
