Now that we are in the heat of the summer, let’s grab some beers that are perfect to pound on a hot day. I have found 3 that I think will help keep you cool and refreshed. Here we go.
And Now, the Brews
|Rogue | Hot Tub Scholarship | Munich Helles Lager|
|From Oregon, Rogue Hot Tub Scholarship Lager, a German-style Helles, which, from what I can tell, means super easy to pound and that is what this blog post is all about. This pours bright golden yellow and has notes of some light hoppiness and sweet malt aroma. Hot Tub Scholarship is light with a nice, slightly sweet finish. If you’re looking for a beer to be your new best friend at the pool party, this one will work for all day drinking poolside. 4 out of 5 bottle caps. This beer will also go well with corndogs.|
|6 pk Cans | 5.4% ABV | 20 IBUs|
|Uinta | Lime Pils | Lager with Natural Lime Flavor|
|This beer is super refreshing. It pours a light yellow, yet it’s still bright in color. You can smell the lime wafting up when you pour it in the glass. I do enjoy drinking this on some of the hottest days of Summer. The lime is a nice touch and it makes me thirst for more. 4 out of 5 bottle caps. This beer plus any Chinese food is dynamite.|
|6 pk Cans | 5.3% ABV | 20 IBUs|
|Uinta | Ready Set Gose | Organic Gose|
|Well, let’s get right to it, the best thing about this beer is the name. I find this beer a little boring. Tart beers may be the coolest trend right now, but that doesn’t make them all good, and, in my opinion, this Gose has been over salted. Now, my definition of a “patio pounder” is a beer that is both easy to drink and also refreshing, but I wouldn’t consider this a “patio pounder”, in fact, if you do drink this beer, thanks to the over salting, you may be even thirstier for a beer that you can actually drink. That’s all I can say about this one 1 out of 5 bottle caps. This beer will go great with a glass of water.|
|6 pk Cans | 4% ABV | 20 IBUs|
That’s it for now until next time, stay thirsty!
