Maui Brewing Company is fresh off the boat and straight from the island of its namesake. This highly anticipated brewery finally made it here to the mainland and they’re offering fun styles with twists to your everyday favorites.  These guys will be added to my drinking list for sure.

And Now, the Brews

Maui Brewing | Pineapple Mana | Wheat Ale
Maui Pineapple Mana
I was really excited to try this wheat beer, for I love a good “weird” wheat beer. Weird meaning the other additions outweigh the fact that it is a wheat beer. Having pineapple added and coming from Hawaii, my expectations were too high. For sure a tasty brew, it pours light in color, hints of the pineapple on the nose, but when you take that first sip, you get little to no pineapple burst. If you like light brews this is one for you. It is a quality wheat beer, after all, just not weird enough for me.

Maui Brewing | Big Swell | IPA
Maui Big Swell The island knows how to make an IPA. This little bugger is fantastic! Crazy waves, no pun intended, of awesome tropical fruits, slight bitterness from the hops, but nothing that lingers on the finish. The flavors are so juicy it made my mouth water and salivate from all corners. It has a lovely creamy texture that hangs around with its beautiful citrus profile. If you are an IPA fan you should for sure grab this one for your next drinking adventure.

Maui Brewing | Coconut Hiwa | Porter
Maui Coconut Hiwa This was another brew that I was super pumped to try! I fell in love with Death by Coconut by Oskar Blues a few years ago and ever since have been looking for something comparable. This Porter comes pretty darn close. Pours dark in color, and the nose is of perfect coconut and sweetness. When you take the first sip, your mouth is hit with the most delightful creaminess. The roastiness from the porter is the perfect compliment to the coconut, tastes like they roasted the coconut and threw it right in the beer. This one I was presently surprised by. This is a winter must have in the fridge.
