As you read this, I am flying in a small aircraft over the Willamette Valley taking an aerial tour of the region’s seven AVAs (American Viticultural Area). My pilot is Scott Neal, owner and winemaker for Coeur de Terre Vineyards of McMinnville, in Oregon. Scott is a native of Cannon Falls, MN with farming in his veins. He and his wife,Lisa, were looking for a great place to pursue their loves of working the land and wine, while also creating a great place to raise a family. What they have assembled in the hills west of the city of McMinnville is a clear reflection of this unique place they call home while maintaining a fidelity to the vintage from which they come. They began building the winery in 1998 and now farm 35 out of their 92 total acres.

Stop in on Saturday between 1PM and 4PM at any of our locations and see what we are raving about!

Cheers! -Bill the Wine Guy

Coeur de Terre Pinot Noir Heritage Reserve Willamette McMinnville 2015
In the glass, this vintage hints at its depth while reflecting the cooling trend that characterized the last month prior to harvest. On the nose, whispers of wild black cherry, blackberries and spices dance with Pacific NW forest aromatics. On the palate, a gradual build-up of balanced flavors, from dark fruit, spices to fine green tea tannins leads a rounding finish with bright notes. This wine will continue to develop over many years.

Maysara 3 Degrees Pinot Noir Willamette Valley 2016
Three Degrees is a Pinot Noir made by the Momtazi sisters when they set out to make a Pinot that tastes great, comes from high quality grapes, all while being affordable for everyone. Intriguing notes of fresh earth, oak leaves and pepper are woven together in the initial impression. Lifted, verdant tannins give this wine a firm structure for the vintage to showcase its characteristic spiciness. A vibrant and snappy Pinot that will shine and refresh when paired with curries, spezzatino, and rich stews.
