Extravagant wines don’t need to come at extravagant prices. We carry a number of classic, yet affordable wines. For instance, in his comprehensive book about the Bordeaux wine region, Robert Parker called Chateau Recougne a perennial best value. We have carried several vintages and I completely agree with his assessment. The Milhade family continues to do fabulous work on this blend of Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc. I think you’ll find it a nice alternative to New World red blends and a great pour for weekend grilling and the upcoming holidays.

The Monte Antico is for practical purposes a Super Tuscan engineered by wine importer Neil Empson. It is a savory blend of Sangiovese, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. This wine walks a line between New World and Old World styles and delivers flavors perfect for a wide range of cuisine.

Kung Fu Girl is one of many successful projects by former rock music promoter Charles Smith. Living in Europe for a couple decades gave Smith plenty of opportunities to drink fine German Rieslings and this is his homage to the crisp and vibrant wines of the Mosel (as well as his love of martial arts films). Smith has fun with his work.

Come in this Saturday (8/20/16) between 1PM and 4PM and try them all.
