Hi! My name is Cassie. I’m a new member of the Top Ten Team, and being a beer enthusiast, I am sharing a few from a list of my favorites.
I tend to enjoy every style of beer the world has to offer—this is why the brews I reviewed below are varying in style and flavor. I hope in the future to review the hottest new brews and inform you so your taste buds are never bored. There are so many goodies to get you in the mood for the change in seasons…with cooler weather upon us, this week’s list will tickle your tongue and would be perfect around any bonfire.
And Now, the Brews
|Angry Orchard | Iceman | Hard Cider|
|This gem is #2 in the Ciderhouse Collection by Angry Orchard. Iceman is an ice-wine, or ice cider from Quebec, Canada. The cidery allows the apples to freeze on the tree during the first part of the cold winter. Once harvested the frozen juice is very concentrated giving a wonderfully abundant apple flavor and a rich sweetness. Nice traces of toasted toffee and caramel, with slight undertones of vanilla from seeing oak during the aging process. Pairs well with spicy foods or creamy cheeses.|
|750ml | 10% ABV | N/A IBUs|
|Badger Hill | Traitor | IPA|
|Badger Hill Brewing Company’s Traitor IPA–with a beer like this I am on your side! This IPA is jam packed with potent hops, but not a crazy in-your-face style IPA, and the use of malt really balances this brew out perfect. It pours an amber color with a lingering head. Rivers of Galaxy, Citra, Centennial and Cascade hops swirl around your mouth giving a nice round sweetness but with great complexity. Dry hopped and pale malts are added providing an everlasting dry finish. Grab a Traitor with a steak and you will be a happy camper.|
|6pk cn | 7% ABV | 70 IBUs|
|Petrus | Aged Pale Ale|
|If you are looking for a face tightening sour this is your companion. This Flaunders Oud Bruin really brings greatness to the table. Pours with a two finger fuzzy head, exciting your nostrils with aromas of sour, lemon and a touch of funk. As you touch the glass to your lips, powerful flavors of sweet tart candy, white grapes, apple, and lemon accompany a mighty acidic bite. The hops in this brew are hidden by the wild yeasts and oak aging done in the brewing process. This guy is light to medium body with tiny little brut champagne type bubbles. Defiantly one on my favorites list.|
|Sour Power 6pk | 7.3% ABV | 10 IBUs|
